Villa Romanu
Tasting notes
Winemaker’s notes: Bright yellow-straw color, with aromas of green tea and citrus notes making this a fresh and youthful wine. Smooth on the palate, with well balanced sharpness, fresh acidity and a pleasant aftertaste.
Food pairing: Grilled fish, oysters and other bivalves, and fried vegetables in garlic and olive oil.
Additional information
Also available in half bottles (0.375) per cases of 12.
Ideal as a house wine.
The inspiration behind the name Villa Romanu comes from the Roman ruins that can still be found near Monforte (Alentejo). It was in that area, at the foot of the São Mamede hills, where in the imperial times the “wine of the Popes” was made. Producing this wine, Herdade do Perdigão commemorates and preserves one of the great moments in the long history and tradition of Portuguese wine, whilst making full use of the modern, innovative technologies that are available today.
