Añacal
Tasting notes
Winemaker’s notes: Clear light yellow color with greenish tints. Intense, elegant aroma of summer fruits (peach, apricot) and white floral notes. Light and fresh wine, with a long fruity aftertaste.
Additional information
Also known as Viura in Rioja where it is the most common white grape, Macabeo is the third traditional variety used in the production of Spain’s sparkling Cava - along with Xarel.lo and Parellada. Macabeo is best used for mildly acidic, young wines meant for early consumption. This is also the case for Añacal which is an easy-to-approach and harmonious (well-made) wine. Most people find it very pleasant, and that is why it makes an ideal house wine.
