Cannonau di Sardegna ‘Síleno’

Cannonau di Sardegna ‘Síleno’ bottle

Tasting notes

Cannonau di Sardegna D.O.C. - beloved by connoisseurs; a wine from the Sardinian tradition.

Winemaker’s notes: Deep ruby red color. Intense scent of ripe forest fruits and berries, with pleasant vegetal and herbaceous undertones. Full, round and persistent taste.
Food pairing: Roasts, game, mature cheese, and cold cuts.

Additional information

Production: 2.1 kg grapes per vine, aging a brief stint in oak barrels.
Cannonau - more commonly known as Garnacha or Grenache - is a late-ripening grape variety and therefore does well in dry, hot climates. In France and Spain it is valued in blends to add fruitiness and body without adding excessive tannins, while in Sardinia it is found as a 100% varietal making the island’s signature, deeply colored and full bodied, red wines.
